Of Montreal's Kevin Barnes will perform at Respectable Street on Sunday, August 8. The show is 18-plus and $15 (but not a Lake Worth-It bracelet) will get you in the door. Fire Zuave and Sweet Bronco are also on the bill.
Confirmation of this development came last night just before Of Montreal gave a soulful performance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon of "Sex Karma," which appears on the band's upcoming trunk-thumping album, False Priest. Solange Knowles, an indie-rock and neo-soul alchemist behind a cover of the Dirty Projectors' "Stillness Is the Move" last year, performs alongside Barnes. The song is great, and Barnes can inspire some strong feelings (especially when it comes to lengthy comment strings in County Grind in which I get in typing matches with anonymous folks). It's a safe bet that this show that reunites the former Palm Beach Gardens resident with the region will ignite some passion.
