Kid 606

Bay Area noisemaker Kid 606 (Miguel Depedro) would like to think he's killed sound. After all, his last two albums were called Who Still Kill Sound? and Kill Sound Before It Kills You. But just to mess with our heads, he creates albums full of sounds, overflowing with sounds. He gives birth to sounds. His latest album, Who Still Kill Sound?, comes gushing out of the birth canal covered in electronic glitch-hop, ragga, hardcore, drum 'n' bass, acid jazz, and every other noise and sample that could possibly fit in our scrambled brains. While his albums are scattershot at best, his live performance is like dosing your ears with acid. -- Audra Schroeder
