Have you ever visited Little Dragon land? It’s a magical musical netherworld located halfway between creepy and cutesy, where the wind whispers and rages in strange songful bursts of art rock, R&B, and electro-pop. If you wander its caves long enough, you’ll inevitably find a bunch of hipsters making out in the shadows while zonked on a mix of moonshine and psychedelics.

Despite the name, this place isn’t actually populated by miniature fire-breathing lizards. Its residents are mostly human, including the enclave’s namesake, Little Dragon, a band of four synth-obsessed Swedes — singer Yukimi Nagano, drummer Erik Bodin, bass player Fredrick Källgren, keyboard guy Håkan Wirenstrand — and a tiny colony of rapidly multiplying fans.

Now if you’ve never taken a trip to Little Dragon land, you should go. But beware, it’s a major trek, the geography is treacherous, and no one’s mapped a reliable path. For what it’s worth, though, here’s a shortcut: Guzzle some ‘shine, smoke 60 milligrams of dimethyltryptamine (DMT), and buy a ticket to this Friday’s show at the Electric Pickle.
