Local Band Hey Monday Releases New Song "Wish You Were Here;" Playing Warped Tour July 24

West Palm Beachers Hey Monday have been on the scene for less than three years. And in this short time, the pop punk five-piece has managed to go on 12 tours, traveling the world over and making a good name for Florida musicians.

Their next stop in South Florida will be during this year's Warped Tour. They're already on the road gearing up for their own personal punk rock summer camp, and managed to chat us up and talk about what they love about Broward, their favorite local bands, pranks, and then some, but more on that later.

They're streaming their first song off of their new album, Beneath it All, "Wish You Were Here" on the Vans Warped Tour page. The album will be released August 17, and lead singer Cassadee Pope took to their MySpace blog to make the announcement, saying:

What's up guys! Cass here coming at you from LA!

It's not terribly easy to put this into words, but I'm gonna give it a shot. The past couple years have been the journey of a lifetime for us -- we've traveled the world multiple times (TO PLAY MUSIC!! UNREAL), shared the stage with our favorite bands more times than we can count, learned valuable life lessons along the way, and we have only YOU to thank for giving us the possibility of turning this dream into a reality. However, not only have you given us this chance to play music for a living, but we have found our best friends in the world in you, and we thank you sincerely for all the support you have shown us since the beginning, the great conversations we've had at shows, malls, or wherever we may bump into one another, and your genuine kindness. Our thankfulness can't be overstated!

Over these past 2 years, we've grown both as people and musically, and we are very happy to announce that our new album, which we believe reflects this growth, will be coming out on August 17th!

The first track from the album, "Wish You Were Here," is premiering right now at www.vanswarpedtour.com - we'd love to hear what you think of it, so leave your thoughts in the replies on warpedtour.com, drop us a message on Facebook, or @reply us on Twitter! Additionally, we'll be posting the first single from the album in the coming weeks, so keep your ears and eyes peeled for that!

We'll be on Warped all summer long and will be playing some new jams from the record, so come out, come get sweaty with us, and let's have a good ol' time!
