We were ecstatic when we heard that West Palm Beach's Surfer Blood are slotted as one of the headliners of this year's CMJ Music Marathon. What better way to get the word out on South Florida's amazing music scene, than by getting our bands out there on one of "the world's most important platforms for the discovery of new music"?

Well, in another bout of great Florida endorsements, Fort Lauderdale ambient electronic collective MillionYoung have just been announced to be joining the pack for this year's CMJ. Their Miami Vice like synths mixed with a slight tinge of surf rock have always made us think, "So this is what Broward on the beach would sound like -- if that beach had little touches of Hawaii."

Other bands on the second round of artist announcements include GZA,

Black Sheep, Cute is What We Aim For, Brahms, and Phoenix. Now we're not

really sure what Phoenix is doing there, as they're definitely not what

we'd consider to be "new" music, but we're hoping they'll bring even

more crowds to check out our South Florida boys. You can check out the full lineup here.
