Recent Detroit-to-Florida transplant Chief, who was featured in Alex Rendon’s recent piece on Footwork4Self Records’ local rise, has a new song circulating featuring a rhymer from his past locale (Guilty Simpson) and his current one (Mayday’s Wrekonize). The MP3 of “Can’t Stand It,” a smoothed-out track with a soul sample on the chorus, is up for download over at the Smoking Section. According to Footwork4Self’s mogul Ryan Kolquist,

Chief and Wrekonize just flew to Detroit to shoot a video for the track.

Bonus: During Chief’s days back in Detroit, he recorded a song with his old group, Past Due, featuring Haircut singing the hook called “All Mine.” If the YouTube tagging didn’t already give it away, Haircut is better-known these days as Mayer Hawthorne — the Culture Room’s guest on Sunday evening.
