Ooh! What a treat for the kids, Johnny-come-latelys, scenesters, middle-aged fogies and record collector nerds! Anybody into South Florida punk andgarage would be wise to not let this one slip, because on the Monterey’s stage this Friday will be three bands who pretty much sum up the last 30-odd years of the local music scene.

Johnny Salton’s Psycho Daisies will warp you to Hialeah and back through their acid wash of psychotropic blues-infected garage rock. The Fur Eels will tire out “Screaming” Lisa Nash (she’s fronting the Eels and the Daisies) with some genuine rockers. And the fun wraps in the very able hands of Bobby Tak, Ian Hammond and Charlie Pickett, collectively known as the Loose Cannons. (The band has previously been showcased on Crossfade’s “MP3 of the Day.”) Hey, if you weren’t there in the ’80s, you can pretend for one night, right? Get show details and check out videos of all the bands after the jump.

The Fur Eels, the Psycho Daisies, and the Loose Cannons. 8 p.m. Friday, March 5. The Monterey Club, 2608 S. Federal Hwy., Fort Lauderdale. Admission is $10; age 21 and up. 954-467-1169; themontereyclub.net
