There's plenty of poetry in music, and music itself is the less socially awkward, cuter cousin of poetry. Both evoke all kinds of emotions through things like words, beats, rhymes, and notes. It's all (f)art.
The Palm Beach Poetry Festival is merely days away, and we didn't want to overlook our fellow wordsmiths. So we asked poet Yaddyra Peralta, who recently taught a haiku workshop at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens as part of the festival, and will be blogging about it on palmbeachpoetryfest.tumblr.org, to write us a few musical poems. The lovely local poetess penned a few stanzas about some famous hometown musicians. She gave us three haikus and a tanka.
