Following a series of unfortunate events yesterday, for which we are truly sorry, the Recess Music Festival will not take place this evening at Xtreme Indoor Karting in Fort Lauderdale.
Based upon the information gleaned from organizers and a Facebook invite, New Times attempted to promote the event featuring people listening to electronic music at a venue, but unwittingly used the very loaded word "rave" to describe such a gathering. A long back-and-forth ensued yesterday, and Xtreme Indoor Karting decided it would not play host.
Chatter continues on the Recess Music Festival Facebook invite, however.
One of the organizers, Brendan Doherty, posted this update Friday afternoon:
RECESS IS POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT SATURDAY AT AN UNDISCLOSED VENUE
Once that information IS disclosed, we will add it here.
