7. Pretty In Pink, a John Hughes Tribute '80s Dance Party

10 p.m. Friday, August 15, at Revolution Live, 100 SW 3rd Ave., Fort Lauderdale. No cover. Visit Facebook.

Pull out the neon leggings, an elbow length's worth of bangles, and load on some hairspray for that '80s permed look this John Hughes-inspired Pretty in Pink '80s dance party requires you look the part. Nostalgia will be in full effect while you watch clips from the legendary flick and swaying to South Florida's only Smiths and Morrissey tribute band, Ordinary Boys. DJs LinderSMASH and Kaos will also present tunes of the Brat Pack era. Molly Ringwald lookalikes are most definitely welcome at this party, and will be especially popular at the slow dance couples competition.

6. Sea-ing Vintage at ArtHouse429

7 p.m. Thursday, August 14, at ArtHouse429. 429 25th St., West Palm Beach. Free or optional $10 donation. Visit Facebook.

We always love a good cause, but especially when it involves a throwback fashionista event. Sea-ing Vintage, besides being a punny title, is ArtHouse 429's first fashion show and an Orca Network fundraiser for Lolita, Miami Seaquarium's famous killer whale. Amidst all the good vibes is artist and fashion designer Amanda Valdes's new swimsuit collection and "sick vintage rides" from Infamous Kustoms Inc., an automotive shop. Take home some art as a bonus and add some culture to your life or just living room.

5. Chris Farren Live and Unplugged

6:30 p.m. Friday, August 15, at Anonymous Guitars, 10778 NW 53rd St., Sunrise. $10 cover. Visit Facebook.

Couldn't afford tickets to see the Offspring and Bad Religion? No worries. We got the $10 hookup for ya. The hidden mecca, Anonymous Guitars, will feature what they're calling "acoustic-ish punk" and indie rock this Friday night. Local musicians supplying the unplugged tunes include Chris Farren of Fake Problems, Raffaele Famularo of They Cage the Animals, Brodyn, 11:59, and more. Just no moshing at this one. You don't want to be "that guy" who impales himself on a drum stick.

4. CineMuzique: A Night of Dark Music & Film

6 p.m. Saturday, August 16, at Cinema Paradiso, Fort Lauderdale, 503 SE 6th St., Fort Lauderdale. $10 cover. Visit Facebook.

As if the '80s event wasn't enough of a reason to dig deep into your mother's closet for items, there's another costumed event on this list. This time, though, it's more Gothic and less neon. Three bands that will be rockin like it's the late 1800s include Hipnosis, the Black Bats, and Queen Dementia. Artists Kelcie McQuaid, Laura Monique Saver, and Alexis Menendez will have Queen Victoria approved artwork as well.

3. Impulse Art™ at Downtown Hollywood ArtWalk

8 p.m., Saturday, August 16, at Artcenter 2020, 2020 Harrison St., Hollywood. No cover. Visit Facebook.

South Florida is a natural haven for music and live art, but what about live art involving feet? That's where Hollywood's Artcenter 2020 comes in. Artist Daniel Pontet will be painting with his feet while Jeff Lee of Resurrection Drums, Evan Kline, and Adrian Jones will simultaneously be playing drums. This little piggy went to the market, this little piggy painted a picture...

2. Mai Kai Dance Party

9 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., Saturday, August 16, Mai-Kai Restaurant and Polynesian Show, 3599 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale. Visit maikai.com.

"Though Nick Dewey (James Brown's Sweat) and Jasper Delaini (DJ Sensitive Side) are the fathers of the irregularly thrown but always memorable Mai Kai dance party, Radio-Active Records' Mikey Ramirez has lent his vinyl stylings to the affair about a handful of times. The crew is regrouping this Saturday, and as Ramirez told us, "expect a bloodbath." A rum-soaked, booty-shaking bloodbath...". Here are some more details about Mai Kai's Dance Party.

1. The Liz Tracy 35th Birthday Blowout

8 p.m. Friday, August 15, at Gramps. 176 NW 24th St., Miami. No cover. Visit Facebook.
