Support the independent voice of South Florida and help keep the future of New Times free.
Free stuff is just falling out of the sky today. Hollywood megabar -- and winner of the 2011 Readers' Poll for Best Bar -- Whiskey Tango and Big 105.9 are hosting the last qualifying edition of Reno's Rockstar Karaoke tonight in preparation for next week's finals. The winner gets a trip for two to Hedonism II resort in Negril, Jamaica.
As you might imagine, this is no ordinary night of karaoke. With a live band on stage, it's as good an opportunity as ever to show off your style, your charisma, and that one-foot hop you've been practicing in front of the mirror all these years.
For a chance to sing for your supper in paradise, enter here.
Next Thursday, the top finalists from each of the past three weeks' competitions will be put to the test to get that trip.
Rockstar Karaoke. 9 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at Whiskey Tango, 1903 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood. No cover. Click here.
Keep New Times Broward-Palm Beach Free... Since we started New Times Broward-Palm Beach, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of South Florida, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering South Florida with no paywalls.
