South Florida Folk Roundup This Weekend in Davie

Folk Nation isn't just a street gang.

According to Wikipedia, "It has been defined in several ways; as music transmitted by word of

mouth, music of the lower classes, music with no known composer."

Folk is the music of ramblers and wildcats, grifters and coal miners, killers, thieves, pimps, train hoppers, hitch hikers, hillbillies, rednecks, ex-slaves, families, farmers, Americans, immigrants, basically anybody, and everybody, you know, folks.

This Sunday at The Roundup in Davie (9020 West State Road 84 corner of Pine Island and 595) from noon to 9 p.m., 18 performers will put it all out there for the 2010 South Florida Folk Roundup. Cover is $15 to $20, log on to browardfolkclub.com for more info or call 954-341-5953.

The video above comes from Panama Red who will be there too.
