Sparta | Music Previews | South Florida | Broward Palm Beach New Times | The Leading Independent News Source in Broward-Palm Beach, Florida

The aftermath of the breakup of the El Paso five-piece At the Drive-In has yielded two very successful bands -- Sparta and the Mars Volta. While the Mars Volta spiraled off into its prog/psych/world music wormhole, Sparta stayed true to ATDI's driving sound. The group's latest album, Porcelain, delivers more of those anthemic, youthful songs that all the indie kids like to dance to. -- Audra Schroeder

Sparta, Further Seems Forever, Copeland, and Sunshine play at 9 p.m. Monday, November 8, at Revolution, 200 W. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-727-0950.
