At the moment, it's coming in from England like it's dial-up, but at some point today, it'll likely be possible to stream TV on the Radio's new album, Nine Types of Light, at the Guardian's website.
The description here suggests that this record is "more relaxed" than Dear Science and attributes that fact to the steady stream of barbecue and Ping-Pong going on during recording. We already like "Will Do," but apparently "The classic TVOTR sound is still here -- cosmic soul, falsetto,
shards of guitar -- but the mood is mellower, and they're not scared to
tackle the humble love song."
This sucker is still not loading, so on to the comments. "New Cannonball
Blues" sounds like a winner. And one reader says this is "immense."
Commenter zigzagzig isn't impressed: "Van Hunt does this better than
anyone and has been doing it longer... and this isn't cosmic soul white
boy!!!!" Uh?
Anyhow, try your luck at hearing the new TV on the Radio album over here. And feel free to let us know how you do or don't like it.
