Sunshine Jones and Pete Herbert Play Electric Pickle Saturday

JonesHerbert.jpg
Another Pickledelic house music soirée is on this Saturday night with Sunshine Jones and Pete Herbert booked to spin DJ sets. San Francisco-based DJ/producer Pete Jones was originally one half of live electronica duo Dubtribe Sound System in '90s. Now he produces and tours under his own name, releasing on labels like King Street Sounds and Nite Grooves in addition to hosting and spinning for Sunday Soul every week on 90hz.org.

Londoner Pete Herbert is one of the more talented dark horses of the contemporary indie dance scene, redefining Italo-inflected disco house with a deep Balearic feel. Herbert has released on Eskimo Recordings with Todd Terje and Phil Mison as Reverso 68, and also records as LSB alongside Barcelona's DJ Babyg with a series of remix and re-edit works on their own label Superdiscoteca. You can expect a healthy measure of funk and a pleasant dose of sleaze at this party.

Opening sets by Strickly B and Will Renuart, along with Retox residents Inbal and Baby Sean. Don't forget your dancing shoes!

Sunshine Jones and Pete Herbert at the Electric Pickle. Friday, June 10, 2009, 10 p.m.-5 a.m. 2826 N. Miami Ave., Miami.
