If anyone defines street punk, it’s the English group the Business, one of the original boots-and-braces bands that took the peacock style of punk and stripped it down to its bare bones. The Business, and its fans, preferred an aesthetic of shaved heads over Mohawks and of raw, pub rock ‘n’ roll over any kind of avant-garde frippery. What this music had in common with its more painted-up cousin, though, was a desire to stick it to the man and very little fear of the occasional aggressive crowd. Shows by the Business are meant to be rowdy, so the meek need not attend the show at Respectable Street, which will draw from 30-plus years’ worth of material.
