Being familiar with the Button South tends to mean that you had to be around during a certain period. The Hallandale Beach venue was founded in the early '80s by the late "Crazy" Greg Newell and gained a hedonistic rep until its late-'90s closing. A few events have reminisced over the place's party-hard vibe. Now, ex-Button South owner John Naimi brings several of the era's bands to Bash of Boca, his current enterprise running out of the old Gatsby's location. Groups scheduled for the Button South Class Reunion include Stranger, Cold Turkey, Gypsy Queen, Canaveral, the Goods, and Heartless. Even if you can't remember a single name, you can bask in nostalgia's comfortable caress, as screens inside Bash will showcase footage from the Button's glory days.
