The Enablers

Check out the collective résumé of the Enablers and you'll find yourself exclaiming "Whoa!" in that oh-so-charming "Joey from Blossom" manner. Members include Rob Coe (formerly of Fay Wray and Cell 63), Dan Bonebrake (formerly of Dashboard Confessional), and his brother Darryl Bonebrake (formerly of the Vacant Andys, among others). A finer South Florida supergroup has yet to be assembled, in my humble opinion, so it's a wonder we don't see the boys very often. Maybe they understand the concept of creating demand, or maybe they're winging across the pond a little more often these days. Whatever the reason, their upcoming gig is a rare treat, and you should make it a point to check them out. What you'll get is a plateful of straight-up rock 'n' roll -- Replacements-style, for those of you who love smarmy indie namedropping -- done right by a trio of guys who know how to fill you up.

The Enablers perform with the Agency, Secret French Kissing Society, and Fallen from the Sky starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, December 30, at the Factory, 2674 E. Oakland Park Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-564-7625.
