The British indie-rock quartet Editors is constantly compared to Joy Division and Interpol, and justifiably so. But what they lack in innovation, Editors makes up for in absorbing anthems that remind us why the new-wave revival happened in the first place. Editors' debut album, The Back Room, blasts vigorous drumbeats and high-pitched guitar riffs that melt with Tom Smith's dark, swaying vocals, creating a haunting aura still kinetic enough to keep listeners dancing. Co-headlining the show is the equally brooding and retro stellastarr*. The track "Lost in Time," off the Harmonies for the Haunted release, undulates with emotion and beauty. Hipsters rejoice to jumping rhythms and the echoing spastic sounds of the keyboard by stirring the dance floor into a gyrating bustle. Hook-heavy and reminiscent of dance-rock's heyday, both bands are well-suited for the nostalgic, neon-clothed elite of the nightlife scene.

Editors and stellastarr* perform with Mobius Band at 9 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Studio A, 60 NE 11th St., Miami. Tickets cost $15. Call 305-358-7625.
