When I first heard the words “Ohio is for lovers,” I instantly thought of those quirky Urban Outfitters T-shirts that came out a few years ago trying to promote random things like which cities are “for lovers” and which “do it better.” Hawthorne Heights’ debut single was an insta-hit that talked about the band going on tour after leaving their girlfriends behind in –you guessed it– their native Ohio.

With two additional albums under their belts, Hawthorne Heights recently released their fourth full-length, Skeletons, the first of this month. Sounding like a slightly mellower but just as intense version of their earlier recordings, the album resembles Armor for Sleep and Silverstein with vocalist JT Woodruff taking the reigns for the second album since Casey Calvert’s accidental death in 2007.

Hawthorne Heights will be playing as a part of Roxy’s Summer Music Series tonight with The Audition and The Story Changes tonight. Doors open at 9pm, and tickets are $11 (which includes a download code for their new CD).

See the video of their new single “Nervous Breakdown” after the jump.
