Tonight! Local Acts Compete at Propaganda to Open for Silversun Pickups

Booking giant AEG teams up with Palm Beach county's trusted musical arbiter Steve Rullman tonight for a "showcasing" of top local bands at Propaganda in Lake Worth. The objective: selecting an act to play the side stage at the Silversun Pickups' show with Against Me! on June 16 at the Sunset Cove Amphitheatre.

On the agenda:
9 p.m.: the indie-pop marvel of West Palm Beach's the Clementines.
10 p.m.: West Palm Beach's dynamic--think My Morning Jacket--three-piece Lavola.
11 p.m.: Boca Raton's jangling bubblegum pop troupe Goolsby.
12 a.m.: Guy Harvey, a quirky yet ominous post-punk group (Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah's meets the National.)

Rullman and company have their hands full with this crop of talented young bands. Good news for the thrifty too: Buy your Silversun Pickups' tickets from an AEG rep this night and save on all those unnecessary service fees.
