Tonight! Sumsun and the Get at Flaunt at Respectable Street

Local act Sumsun -- a mostly one-man project -- is all beautiful synth and glowing chimes in a nebula, anchored by old-school R&B grooves and vocals. Given that bassy nostalgia, it's as close to the 1980s as glo-fi has been trying to get, but certainly not in production: this stuff is shiny and amazing.

He's playing at Flaunt tomorrow night with his friend DJ the Get, who is spinning at Flaunt for the first time. The Get's own tracks, equally banging, will be good company for Sumsun and the usual favorited resident DJs: Marvelous Kendall, Ozwaldus, Danxiety and of course the wonderful JJ, who wrote and raved about tomorrow night on the Flaunt blog (and was kind enough to send over the flyer).  Check out the entry here for more info and to download or listen to tracks by both Sumsun and The Get.

Sumsun. With the Get and Modernesque Burlesque. 10:30 p.m. Thursday, June 3.  Respectable Street, 518 Clematis Street, West Palm Beach. Free.  21+.
