Radioboxer brings heart and fake blood to the stage

Sure, some of you were probably cat enthusiasts before the hipsters took over the feline species and began adoring and exploiting them online. But, the cats don't care if you like them ironically or not. For them, it's all about getting their purr-on and receiving kitty love.

This weekend at Green Room, Caturday Saturday offers those with cat scratch fever a cure. An evening dedicated to the felines in our life, there will be a cat themed art show, vendors, a costume contest, cats available for adoption, and live music by Radioboxer. A portion of the evening's proceeds will be donated to the Cat Network -- a local non-profit for orphaned cats (Cat Network rules!).

Take a look at our list of the top five music videos that feature cats right meow.

5. Ra Ra Riot - "Boy"

This video would probably win the award for having the most cats ever in a music video. Sure, they're computer generated clones, but it still counts.

4. Holy Fuck - "Red Lights"

Cat driving car. Check. Cat in a totally badass car chase scene. Check. Cat band. Check. The cutest cat ever wiggling its ears to the song's beat. Check and check. There isn't much this music video doesn't have. Around 30 seconds in, look at the little kitten tapping his paw! This homage to Toonces is purrfectly cat-astrophic.

3. Bjork - "Triumph of the Heart"

Directed by Spike Jonze, this music video delves into the the weird and magical world of cat enthusiasts. It seems Bjork is dating her cat (but, really isn't every cat lady?). However, at some point she grows tired of him, deciding to leave. Yet, at the end she can't resist his fresh feline dance moves. Quite honestly, who really could?

2. Best Coast - "Crazy For You"
Best Coast frontwoman Bethany Cosentino is the queen of cat ladies in the indie scene. We think this song might even be about her cat Snacks. As for the music video, how cute is that suit-wearing, video-directing cat?! And the cat in the Hawaiian top! Cats in clothes make us lose our minds.

1. Rocket From the Crypt - "On a Rope"

In general, this music video pretty much offers cute overload. Furry bunny rabbits, baby chickens, and kissing puppies galore. Following butterfly catching, there are a whole bunch of tiny kittens playing in balls of yarn. Quite honestly, you could watch this video on mute and still love it.

Caturday Saturday with Radioboxer. 10 p.m., Saturday, August 11, at Green Room, 100 SW Third Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Admission is $5 with proceeds benefiting the Cat Network.
