New Times Broward-Palm Beach Calendar Editor Mickie Centrone has the enviable job of knowing about every event that happens within the boundaries of the two counties, and then some. When she attends some of the finest events from a given week, we'll post the details of her travels here. On Tuesday, she attended Tuesdays at Monterey Club in Fort Lauderdale.

A little past 1 a.m. at Tuesdays at Monterey Club was the moment I knew Otto von Schirach could adapt to any environment -- because almost everyone there was air surfing. After spinning some of his signature tunes -- which is catchy, space-age, euro-type stuff -- he spun "Wipe Out." And what could possibly follow? "You're my Diamond Girl" -- and a few ladies responded to this remix by having a dance off.

Each week, DJ Sensitive Side hosts Tuesdays at Monterey Club. This rockabilly/retro-themed joint is one of the few buildings that lies on the barren stretch of land near the Fort Lauderdale Airport. These nights could include guest DJs, live performances, art, album release parties, screen printing, and/or beat boxing.

The photos below tell what happened up until everyone wiped out.
