Not terribly long ago, we stumbled upon Plantation's Cardiothief, some young purveyors of lo-fi rock that follows the fuzzy lineage of many early-'90s acts (and lives on in bands like Surfer Blood, Yuck, and the Pains of Being Pure at Heart).
"Youth Tapers" is more about a feeling than a specific message -- the lyrics are garbled just enough to perplex -- and it's a calming, solar glow that takes you over. The road trip images accompanying here, created by Benjamin Foreman, have the same sort of unpolished connections that occasionally don't meet up perfectly but effectively capture the rural/suburbia/beach dichotomy of a good many who don't live right on the South Florida sand.
