The biggest deal about the New Pornographers releasing a video for "Moves," the most excellent song off last year's Together, is exactly that. Not sure why it only gets the video treatment now -- unless it's strictly a product of the 8,034 or so cameos in the clip. This plays out like a typical Hollywood film trailer for a coming attraction called, in this case, The Rise and Rise of the New Pornographers. (Also be sure to catch Paul Rudd and Bill Hader in Expectant Dads.)
In this Tom Scharpling-directed universe, Carl Newman and his Canadian cohorts are "the group that shook the world," and they have all the number-one records, mountains of cocaine, and boycotters, led by the Daily Show's John Oliver, that any renowned act should enjoy.
