All of the bands who performed at Friday’s New Times Stage as part of the SW 3rd Ave Music Festival were on point — but only one can hold high the title of winning the evening’s text vote challenge, a “Battle of the Bands” of sorts.
After a long night of tabulating and checking for hanging chads, there is a winner. Is it John Ralston, the Dewars, Young Circles, Plains, the New, or Lavola?
The New! The delightful pop-punk quartet won the hearts of the night’s attendees with a triple dose of female vox from guitarist Lori Garrotte, bassist Natalie Smallish, and keyboardist Jordan Calloway. Giz Forte beat the skins senseless behind them.
