Be sure your creative license is tucked into your wallet come mid-December for the inaugural Zitfest. Set for December 17-18 at the Orange Door, a venue in Lake Park normally reserved for blues shows, the two-day fest should be a merciless, exfoliating blast of South Florida's finest shades of independent rock.

Updated: Advance tickets for $9, which covers both days, are available here.

Organized by the Jameses' bassist Jesse Bryan with assistance from the Love Handles' CJ Jankow and others, the event features nearly a dozen bands from the Palm Beach County area and Miami, as well. If everything goes well, the lineup could grow to include more out-of-towners of a similar ilk. Check out the bands booked so far below.

Initial Zitfest 2010 Lineup:

Russian Tsarlag

Partial People

Diet Cokeheads
Love Handles

Chill Pillars

Band in Heaven

Lil Daggers

Jacuzzi Boys

Teepee

Little Beard

The Jameses

Guy Harvey

More information on the fest is coming soon.
