Support the independent voice of South Florida and help keep the future of New Times free.
Broward and Palm Beach Counties are doing their part today to commemorate the 14th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. The American Legion is hosting a free 9/11 Memorial Concert at ArtsPark at Young Circle, located at 1 North Young Circle in Hollywood, tonight.
The concert, which will feature the American Legion Symphonic Band, will also include the Florida Police Pipe and Drum Corp and will be a tribute to military personnel, law enforcement, and fire departments.
The event begins at 7:30 p.m.
Earlier in the day, the Broward Sheriff's Office held their 8th annual Patriot Day Memorial Ceremony at the Signature Grand. The ceremony honored those who gave their lives on 9/11.

Keep New Times Broward-Palm Beach Free... Since we started New Times Broward-Palm Beach, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of South Florida, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
