I got a good laugh when I saw this CNN interview with former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, so I decided to post it. I too am sick and tired of the insidious bunny rabbit-related racist stereotypes being thrown around these days. Where will it end?
Hey, with all this Glenn Beck nonsense going on, let's not forget that it's all nothing but grotesque theater. Think about this scene: Geraldo Rivera talking in a supposedly serious and sober tone about a Glenn-Palin presidential ticket. It happened. I saw it with my own eyes on Fox News, which continues its own campaign to further idiotize the populace in its bid to make sure rich people get off easy on taxes, we have some kind of world war on Islam, and we never get anything resembling a sane health care policy. Resist at all costs.
In that vein, yesterday we talked about the heavily financed and dishonest anti-Amendment 4 campaign and how they want to start "viral conversations" about the issue. Well, I'm on one of these lists, and to see the latest viral scare tactic, look inside.
OK, so Obama is apparently reading CNN's Fareed Zacaria's book The Post-American World. To read an intelligent review of this very mainstream book, click here. But something strange happens when the information gets in the hands of the viral right. It becomes sinister. Especially when lies and fearmongering are stirred into the mix. What follows is the content of an email being spread around by these hucksters:
The Post-American World, and it was written by a fellow Muslim.
The real threat to Red State America here is that the president reads. Books!
