It's official. Frank Biden, brother of the man second in line for the White House, is listed on state documents as president of the for-profit Mavericks in Education Florida charter school chain based in Fort Lauderdale.
Last month, when New Times broke the story about Biden's involvement with Mavericks, he was registered as a lobbyist for the company, but no state documents confirmed his claim that he was president and director of development.
But on December 5 -- two weeks after New Times raised questions about the paperwork -- Mavericks filed a new report with the Florida Secretary of State and listed Biden as president. Frank Attkisson, a former state representative who once ran a state commission designed to approve charter schools that were rejected by local school boards, is now vice president of Mavericks.
