Well, folks, here it is, the moment you've been waiting for since the advent of the iPad -- the release of the iPad 2. It's going to revolutionize the way we live, breathe, and interact (or not) with our surroundings. Faster and thinner than the iPad, and with two cameras -- I'm a believer.
New Times web extraordinaire, Devin Desjarlais, snapped a few
photos of the crowd at the Boca Town Center Apple store. Some of these
folks have been waiting in line since 7 a.m. -- 7 a.m.!! Gosh, where do
these people work that they have both the time and money for such an
endeavor?
Word from the Apple crowd is that Town Center security
guards have been periodically making these people sitting in line stand
up. Until they get tired and sit once again. Then, they're forced to
stand once more. Who knew getting an iPad 2 had a physical element to
it! But it just goes to show the dedication of these devotees. I mean,
bringing your own chair, that's hard core.
Please, when you iPad
chasers come home and finish downloading all of your apps and face-timing with one another, post some early reactions here, for both this
writer's sake and other readers'. I'm curious. How great is it?
