Jose Lambiet Leaving Palm Beach Post for Radar Online Gossip Website

Jose Lambiet, the Palm Beach Post celebrity gossip columnist and Page 2 Live blogger, is leaving his position at the Post and taking a job as executive editor of Radar Online, a TMZ-like gossip site based in Florida, New York, and Hollywood.

Lambiet has not returned New Times' call, but a representative for Radar Online confirmed that he had taken the job and said that a news release "went out about five minutes ago," around 3 p.m. Tuesday. Gossip about the gossip writer's imminent move had been swirling over the past few days.

Lambiet will be working under David Perel, the editor of Radar Online, who has taken on new duties as editorial director of Star magazine, according to the New York Post. Lambiet quit his job at the Post last Friday in anticipation of the move.

The celebrity gossip on Page 2 Live included a report that Rihanna may have played sick to get out of performing for Donald Trump on Palm Beach. Recently he raised political hairs by reporting that the parents of Gabrielle Giffords' neurosurgeon were Tea Party supporters.
