Hollywood Police just updated the media about its findings in shooting incident that occurred in the late afternoon Sunday in Boulevard Heights. It's a murder-suicide. The shooter's name is Zacaria Fernandez, who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he shot Yvonne Magdalena Rios, the sister of his estranged wife, several times. Both were found in the driveway of their North 66th Terrace home. Rios' sister. The release adds a few more details to how the incident occurred:

The ensuing investigation revealed the assailant's estranged wife, Grace Rios Fernandez and her sister, Yvonne Magdalena Rios, had arrived at the residence a short time prior to the murder/suicide. The Fernandez' 5 year-old son, was in the vehicle with them. A confrontation ensued in the driveway. Zacaria Fernandez was armed with a gun. As Zacaria Fernandez began firing shots, Grace Fernandez fled the scene in the vehicle with the 5 year-old child. Neither Grace Fernandez, nor the 5 year-old son, was physically injured. Her sister, Yvonne Magdalena Rios, stayed behind and was shot multiple times. Investigators determined Zacaria Fernandez then turned the gun on himself, taking his own life. The couple also has a 9 year-old son who was home at the time of the shooting, but was not injured.
