Considering that Bernie Madoff built himself a cabbage patch of investors, it’s fitting that his former Manhattan penthouse would be purchased by the couple who made their millions from the Cabbage Patch franchise of dolls, Al and Patsy Kahn, who talked to the Times of London.
And you’ve gotta love this quote, which sounds like it came from the caption of a New Yorker cartoon:
“He was worried about the karma, but I just loved the terrace,” Mrs Kahn said.
Alas, no buyer has yet found Bernie’s terrace in Palm Beach to be inducement enough to risk the karma that comes with it. The article notes that the asking price has dropped from $8.5 million to $7.2 million.
