Morning Juice: Good News on Palm Beach Property Values, Broward FCATs

The news in Palm Beach and Broward counties this Wednesday morning:

  • Hollywood has a new Community Redevelopment Agency director (again). The brave soul is Charlotte Burnett, former director of corporate affairs and legal counsel for the West Palm Beach Housing Authority. She's upbeat, but then let's see if that lasts through the audit. [Miami Herald]
  • Palm Beach County property values are a combined $124.5 billion, which is higher than cities and towns feared and it means they won't have to slash their budgets quite as much. [Palm Beach Post]
  • An aide for Broward County Commissioner Ilene Lieberman is a cooperating witness in the State Attorney's Office corruption investigation of county politicians. [Sun-Sentinel]

  • FCAT scores are up in Broward County (and Miami-Dade, too). [WPLG-10]
