Obama Gives Dania Beach Ice Cream Parlor Shoutout, May Cancel Trip to Florida

In case you didn't know, President Obama is hitting up Florida this weekend, giving ~~terrorist fist bumps~~ shoutouts to Dania Beach ice cream shop owners and looking to push his health-care initiative.

But if the proverbial crap begins to hit the proverbial fan in the Ukraine, POTUS may well cancel the rest of his trip down here so he can go deal with that and keep us all not talking about Benghazi, AMERITE, GOPers?

The president and first lady had planned to visit Coral Reef High School in Miami on Friday. And Obama's itinerary says he'll be sticking around South Florida for the remainder of the weekend.

But according to a statement from a White House official, that all may change if things in the Ukraine get nastier than they already are.

"The president looks forward to visiting Coral Reef High School with the First Lady on Friday where he will discuss the importance of a quality education for all Americans. The president had planned to stay in South Florida with his family for the remainder of the weekend. However, it is possible the president may return to the White House on Friday as events unfold in Ukraine. Further details regarding the president's schedule will be released when available."

For now, the plan for POTUS, Mrs. POTUS, and the Little POTUSES is to take in our beautiful state and weather over the weekend because, in case you hadn't heard, it's cold as balls up in D.C. They just had a snowstorm pass through up there. Again.

But even before hitting up Florida, Obama is talking up our state in good ways.

At a speech about raising the national minimum wage at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Conn., Wednesday, Obama talked up Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlour in Dania Beach.

Last month, the president called for a raise of the minimum wage during his State of the Union address.

So, Jaxson's did so, giving its employees a raise, up to $10.10 per hour.

Prettay cool.

So, Obama gave the ice cream shop a well-deserved shoutout:
