We're not sure what socialite Paris Hilton has been doing since her 15 minutes ran out, but apparently it was doing good things for animals.

Because Hilton is in Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday to receive an American Humane Association award for her charity work, and yes, you read this right.

At a luncheon gala set for 11:30 this morning, Hilton will be receiving the prestigious National Humanitarian Medal while she also shares her love of animals.

Singer/songwriter Clint Holmes is expected to be on hand to perform.

"I am honored to receive the National Humanitarian Medal by American Humane Association," Paris wrote on her official website (or someone who works for Paris wrote). "I would love for you to join me at this special luncheon."

In its announcement, American Humane Association calls Hilton a "celebrated actress, entertainer and entrepreneur."

So, there's that.
