Pastrami Pillager Steals Entire Semi Truck of Meat in Pompano Beach

The Broward Sheriff's Office has just put out a surveillance video showing an unidentified salami swiper driving away with a tractor-trailer containing $150,000 of meat destined for a grocery distributor.

Police say a white truck pulled up behind the semi just before 8 a.m. on May 29. The driver went inside the Associated Grocers facility at 1141 SW 12th Ave. in Pompano Beach, and when he came out, the truck was gone, grabbed by a sausage snatcher and his (or her) quest for free meat.

BSO spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said police were called right away, but "there's a million and one white semis." She said it was the first time she'd seen anything like this and had no insight into how someone would get rid of tons upon tons of stolen meat. Police are looking for information about the ham heist (roast beef ripoff, kielbasa caper, etc.) and ask you call BSO Det. Joel Rivero at 954-786-4210 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477 if you know anything about the capicola kidnapper or his bologna burglary.
