Rothstein Recruiter Andrew Barnett Arrested on Domestic Violence, Drug Charges

Former RRA "director of corporate development" Andrew Barnett was arrested yesterday on charges of domestic battery, cocaine and marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with a witness or victim, according to police records.

We're still waiting on the actual paperwork to see what he's specifically accused of, but this isn't Barnett's first encounter with authorities.

In addition to tickets this year for careless driving, running a stop sign, failure to wear a seat belt, and driving on a sidewalk, Barnett got himself caught up in Scott Rothstein's Ponzi scheme by... uh, well, working directly for Scott Rothstein's Ponzi scheme.

Barnett reportedly helped recruit investors in the scam back in 2009 but maintained that he thought the whole thing was legit. He must have told his mom it was, because she said she lost half a million dollars in the ordeal. Barnett said he was also an innocent bystander when he was listed as a partner in seven Florida companies with a man who was charged with bilking a Wellington man out of $700,000.

Whatever these new charges are, it'll be interesting to see how he pushes these off on someone else.
