A 36-year-old woman named Melanie Parada disappeared March 11 from her home on 15 Isle of Venice in Fort Lauderdale. That night, a Thursday, Parada put her 8-year-old daughter to bed. When the daughter woke up that Friday morning, Parada had vanished without a trace.

Family members alerted police when they hadn't heard from Parada by Sunday. Police have released the photo on the right. They say she is about 5-foot-3, weighs 115 pounds, and has blond hair.
