If you're concerned about the big roadblock on Andrews Avenue near the courthouse on SE Sixth Street, don't be -- it's all under control, according to Fort Lauderdale Police spokesman Det. Travis Mandell.
Authorities are still trying to unravel what actually happened, but Mandell said initial information points to reports of a "guy running around with a rifle and a scope on it," which turned out to be far less scary than it sounds.
There was a guy with a rifle, but Mandell said that based on the limited information available right now, the situation doesn't involve a shooter but "something about having his rifle fixed." Both the man and his broken gun have been secured, but the concrete details of what happened won't be available for a while. Either way, you're safe.
