Tornado Watch Extended for Palm Beach County Through Tonight

Earlier this morning, forecasters issued a tornado watch for central Palm Beach County that as at first up to 9:00 a.m., then extended to 11 a.m.

But now the National Weather Service is all meh screw it, let's extended it even further -- up to 10 p.m.

The tornado watch has now also been issued to all of Palm Beach County, as well as the Treasure Coast.

Bob Ebaugh, the weather service specialist at the National Weather Service in Miami, says we shouldn't be fooled by the sudden calm outside.

Bob Ebaugh is also a specialist is saying ominous stuff, apparently.

"Don't be misled by nice skies out there. It's just a brief window, you are going to have more coming," said Sunshine Bob.

But, Bob is just being cautious. That's because he says more rain is on the way, followed by thunderstorms, followed by the very real risk of tornadoes hitting up Palm Beach County.

"Until this system moves farther north to where we stop getting bands from it, you are going to have a possibility of maybe a tornado spinning out there," he said.

Meanwhile, the Acreage and Belle Glade have seemed to get a real gut-punch from Tropical Storm Andrew this morning. According to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, power lines are down between 77th Place North and 82nd St. North, which is north of Orange Boulevard and south of Northlake Boulevard in the Acreage.

A funnel cloud was spotted near the Acreage, and there have been scattered reports of a spout touching down in Riviera Beach.

Andrea is also responsible for at least one injury, as an Loxahatchee woman was taken to the hospital with injuries after a tree fell through her roof, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

WPTV.com has areal footage of storm damage in Central Palm Beach County.

And it looks like we'll be all up in Andrea's junk well into Friday afternoon, when the rain and stormy conditions finally begin to dissipate for good.

Meanwhile, this is happening in the Treasure Coast:

An unfortunate coincidence. Still.... NOT HELPING, ST. LUCIE NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, PEOPLE!
