[UPDATED] Lauderdale Police Name Suspect in Hit-and-Run

A Lake Worth resident named Iver Siu has been named as the suspected driver in last week's hit-and-run on State Road 84 that left a 13-year-old boy in critical condition.

That boy, who has not been named, was crossing the westbound lanes of State Road 84 just before 4 p.m. on April 22 when he was struck by a 2001 Dodge van. A witness to the collision reported that that the van stopped, backed up, then proceeded west, with the witness in pursuit.

The driver abandoned the van in Plantation but a K-9 team couldn't find him in the hours after the incident.

There's no update on the condition of the 13-year-old boy. UPDATE: A Fort Lauderdale Police spokesman says the boy has been released from Broward General and is recovering.

Anyone who can help locate Siu is invited to contact police, whose information is after the jump.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed this is encouraged to contact Traffic Homicide Investigator Donald Goedke at 954-828-5754 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
