The brand new Holistic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Fort Lauderdale is hosting it's grand opening event at Al-Salam Restaurant from 6:30-8:30 p.m, Wednesday, January 22. Special guest speaker Susie Q from Natural Awakenings will be sharing her story. The chamber is open to holistic practitioners and professionals looking to connect with like-minded individuals; business owners who are looking for a more holistic approach to doing business; and supporters of the holistic community. The event itself is free, except for any food and drinks you choose to order.

Rebecca McBane is the arts and culture/food editor for New Times Broward-Palm Beach. After a brief stint bumming around London's East End (for no conceivable reason, according to her poor mother), she returned to real life and South Florida to start at New Times as the editorial assistant in 2009. A native Floridian, Rebecca avoids the sun and beach at all costs and can most often be found in a well-air-conditioned space with the glow of a laptop on her face.
