Unless you were buried under a stack of Justice League International comics recently, you no doubt caught the interwebs all aflutter around DC Comics' plan to make all new comics available online for day-and-date digital publication. At first, it sounds positive, right? Save trees and free up that spare room used exclusively for storage bins of old DCs. But what about the tactile experience completed only by hiding out under a bed sheet, flashlight in hand, to caress the pages of a pristine copy of that latest comic? It still has its place, like at Saturday's PalmCon 2011 at the American Polish Club (4725 Lake Worth Road, Greenacres). The Palm Beach County Comic Book and Collectibles Show will feature a ton of collectible comics along with a live Ustream of the Pow Wow Show, an indie film lounge, and booths staffed with web creators, graphic artists, and clothing companies, including 501st Legion, Banky, Bob Bowles, and Carasells Collectibles. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a $3 admission, $1 for students. Visit cosmictimes.net/palmcon.
