Chris Evert’s Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic returns this weekend for another three days of fun-filled high jinx in and around the tennis court. Since 1989, tennis legend Evert has been hosting this celebrity-filled event, which has raised more than $21 million to combat drug abuse and child neglect in Florida.
This philanthropic weekend kicks off Friday with Tennis With Chrissie and Friends, held at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, where participants can have the rare opportunity to receive pointers from Hall of Famer Evert as well as other tennis greats. Then the festivities move to the Delray Beach Tennis Center for the Pro-Celebrity Classic on Saturday and Sunday — where fans can witness other iconic tennis heroes at play, including famed Evert rival Martina Navratilova and notorious tennis figure Patrick McEnroe. Other notables who will likely join the festivities are comedian Jon Lovitz and Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale as well as many others.
This celebrity-jammed, charitable sporting fete starts Friday with Tennis With Chrissie and Friends at 11 a.m. at the Boca Raton Resort, located on 501 E. Camino Real in Boca Raton. The Pro-Celebrity Classic starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Delray Beach Tennis Center, located at 201 W. Atlantic Ave. in Delray Beach. General-admission tickets start at $20 for individual seating and $40 for a two-day GA pass. Call 561-394-2400, or visit chrisevert.org.
