Big Dog Station Sports Bar & Cafe

Big Dog's Station is a casual indoor/outdoor Oakland Park watering hole and sports bar with a sizable, generally middle-aged local following. Flat-screen televisions that play football and baseball packages line the top of the bar and one inside wall. The long U-shaped bar is lined with people during happy hour, and a small outside bar has a small but amusing crowd. On the side patio is a pool table and picnic-bench-style seating. Those who pull up on a bike get $1 off on Monday night Bike Night. Big Dog's hosts dart tournaments on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 8 p.m. Happy-hour discounts are offered from 3 to 7 p.m. except for Wednesday, when all drinks are two-for-one. Generally, drink prices aren't too steep here. A Jack and Coke will set you back $4.50, an import bottle $3.75, and a domestic bottle $3. Beer-bucket specials of five-for-$12 domestics and five-for-$15 imports are offered all the time. The kitchen is open until 10 p.m. Big Dog's Station is open from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.
