This week, South Florida is home to a number of solid shows. The Griswolds and Magic Man play Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday, Bad Company and Joe Walsh hit Perfect Vodka in West Palm on Sunday, and 104.3 the Shark launches its Undertow Jam at Revolution also on Sunday, featuring headliners Young the Giant.

For those willing to head south to Miami, !!! (Chk Chk Chk) will be at Gramps in Wynwood on Wednesday and Urban Beach Week kicks off the day after. However, there’s a of concert that might get lost in the shuffle from an under-the-radar band that’s perfect for Fort Lauderdale.
Pompeya are a three-piece outfit that craft effortless dance rock infused with touches of disco, plenty of new wave shine, and a nod toward '90s alternative. The trio has already spent the first half of May in Florida, a natural fit for their music, especially considering their first record was titled Tropical. The band will conclude its Sunshine State residency Memorial Day weekend. They have concerts at Libertine in Miami and Rhythm & Vine in Fort Lauderdale for the inaugural Rhythm Fest. If you’re looking to sweat for a reason other than the unbearable humidity, Pompeya’s kinetic, pulsing synth-pop make the Moscow-based group an unlikely but welcome excuse and a must-see before they take off for cooler climates.
