A clip accompanying Noah Wall's "Mind Games" continues our fascination with the directorial work of Carlos Charlie Perez, who was sprung from beginnings in South Florida to a successful music video career in New York. Read New Times' feature on him here.

With the minimalist touches of Brooklynite Wall's synthesizer score as the basis, Perez sculpts a rainbow-colored brain conveyor filled with important memories.

Among the many reasons we like this video, which originally premiered on YVYNL, is that the images that come careening through the magical tube often come at intervals synched to the song's rhythms. It'll be impossible to hear this song now without thinking about the sunflower pounding down on you. In life, especially when we're listening to music, the beats created by the things surrounding us -- railroad crossing lights, turn signals, our own steady steps -- often conform to the songs we hear, so why not play this little mind game?

Even Mr. Wall (via his mouth) shows up at semiregular intervals. The voices in our heads so rarely have a face -- and why should they?
